Australian Dr Helen Caldicott has been campaigning for nuclear disarmament for decades and her visit to New Zealand in the early ’80s is often cited as a catalyst for Kiwis adopting the anti-nuclear cause as their own. The Smithsonian Institute has described her as one of the 21st century’s most influential women.

Read with interest your comments on the low/intermediate level waste repository (dump) at Hawker in South Australia. We have been campaigning against it as we have lived here for generations, run a tourism and pastoral enterprise and do not want the dump near here for many reasons including the unsuitability geologically and the fact there is no contamination here at present. The is a FLAG Flinders Ranges Action Group who are lobbying for the site to be abandoned. Please contact us if you would consider supporting us in our endeavours
